On 23 June 2025, a policy day event in Brussels brought together 35 experts from across research, civil society, and EU policy to tackle one of the most urgent challenges in ocean governance: how to strengthen policy coherence for a healthier, more resilient ocean. Co-organised by the Horizon Europe-funded CrossGov and MSP4Bio projects, with support from Permagov and BlueGreen Governance (BGG), the event focused on aligning marine-related policies—especially around offshore wind, fisheries, and biodiversity.

Through plenary talks, interactive sessions, and expert panel discussions, participants explored how current frameworks can better respond to the EU’s evolving marine ambitions, including the goals of the European Green Deal and the newly launched EU Ocean Pact.
