The coordinating group of the Valencian Community presents a work group during the 5th ICCA International Congress

The coordinating team of the Valencian Community attended the 5th ICCA International Congress, “Democracy, Politics, and Intelligent Administration in Critical Times”. Held from November 20 to 22 at Universidad Complutense, Madrid.

Academics Bernabé Aldeguer and Irene Luján coordinated and commented on the Working Group: “Administration, Actors, and Public Policies for the Ecological Transition.” Experts from various universities accompanied them, explaining the particularities and challenges of the ecological transition in their regions. The involvement of such a wide variety of experts, especially from different countries, resulted in a very enriching discussion that helped us understand regional particularities and the challenges we face, in addition to opening a space for debate where people could share their opinions. The working group provided an enriching experience to share and discuss crucial topics such as:

• Public Policies for socio-ecological and Economic Transition.

• Evaluation of the Impact of Local Environmental Governance.

• Actor Networks in socio-environmental Conflict.

• Movements in defence of the territory.

• The strategic role of communities in the ecological transition.

• The need to strengthen local governance.

• Climate emergency and energy transition in different political contexts.

This type of congress has once again demonstrated its importance by serving as a window to understand the situation that exists in other regions and their path towards the ecological transition. These opportunities are what help us understand more about the importance of a green future.
