Preparations by the team at the Universitat de València for the third BGG workshop are in full swing. This team is responsible for the Valencian region Case Study and they are already making an impact there with the work they have been doing so far. To help prepare for the next workshop, a series of meetings have been held with wetland managers.

“The main objective of these meetings with Natural Park directors and technical teams from the coastal wetlands is to validate and refine the actions that will be brought forward for discussion during the next BlueGreen Governance workshop.
This preparatory process is helping to strengthen the initial proposals by incorporating the direct experience, technical expertise and territorial knowledge of those responsible for the day-to-day management of these protected wetlands. Their feedback is essential to ensure that the workshop addresses realistic priorities, institutional constraints and the specific governance challenges affecting each territory.”
“Building on the work carried out during previous BGG policy dialogues, the third workshop will provide a space for stakeholders to assess potential actions and governance pathways aimed at overcoming the problems identified throughout the project and moving towards the agreed objectives for the future of these wetlands.
By working closely with Natural Park managers and technical teams before the workshops, the UV team aims to maximise the value of stakeholder deliberation and ensure that the discussions are firmly grounded in both the realities of wetland management and the broader goal of developing more integrated, collaborative and adaptive land-sea governance.”
